Martes plays an accountant by day and is a single mother to a wonderful young son. Struggling with depression and anxiety, she was invited to attend church service in 2020. While there she had an encounter with the Holy Spirit that forever changed the trajectory of her and her son’s life. Desperate for healing and belonging she dove in at the deep end seeking the love of Jesus. Martes found purpose in her pain by seeing how her own spiritual growth and walk with the Lord benefited her son and close friends. She writes in the hopes that others can embrace their own story of God’s grace in their lives. Her desire is that the raw and honest writings of her messy road to God’s grace will encourage and strengthen others in their own journeys. When she isn’t crunching numbers or journaling, Martes spends her free time reading.
