Ephesians 6:7 – “Serve wholeheartedly, as if you were serving the Lord, not people.” |
Research suggests that people who engage in helping others are happier and have better mental and physical health than those who don’t spend as much time helping others. It also suggests that helping others can give us a break from our own problems.
Some people do good works to receive praise from people. They want to be seen as someone who gives of themselves and sacrifices their time, money, and efforts for others.
When you do good for others what is your motivation? Do you seek praise, a lift in your or someone else’s spirit or is helping others where you feel God leading you to serve?
Whatever the reason we must work with a holy attitude and our works should be for God’s eyes alone. With this perspective, we can respond with an attitude and life that honors God and shows love to others through Him.
