Romans 12:21 – “Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.” |
I seem to think about this when I am trying to worship God at church. Or as I am trying to participate in the communion service. Sometimes the world is one big mess.
Someone I know is being swallowed up by a drug addiction. Someone has turned their back on God. Someone has been kidnapped into sex trafficking. Disease takes lives. A shooter goes on a senseless killing spree. People are being executed and killed in wars around the globe. The government threatens to shut down when it nears the spending limit. Wherever I turn, there is plenty of trouble. And I ask myself “how do I live in this mess?”
Thank God for the gift of His Son. Our redeemer. This is the calm in the eye of the storm. This world is being reserved for fire and intense heat on a day that only God knows. Father in heaven, help me to stay calm and hang on, in Jesus’ name, Amen!
