James 4:8 – “Come near to God, and He will come near to you.” |
Have you gotten up one morning and said, “Today – I change the world.” No? Well, me either. I wonder though . . . when Noah woke up the morning God came to him, did he know God was going to use him to change the world?
Long before word came from God to build a boat, Noah lived righteously and raised his family in an evil world. A world so evil God wanted to destroy everything in it. Noah didn’t become righteous after God spoke to him or when he started building a boat. Noah had lived righteously all along. His focus didn’t stray to evil neighbors or worry about the dark times or question God’s sovereignty. Noah just walked with God. Because of that steadfast faithfulness, God saved mankind through Noah, and life began anew in a changed world.
Today, as we live in a world of darkness and sin, do we walk close to God? Like Noah, we can do it! Look to God in all things, live righteously and be open to His calling. Who knows? Someday, God may use YOU to change the world! After walking close beside Him, you will be ready.
Sing: “I Have Decided to Follow Jesus”
Dear God: Thank you for examples like Noah and thank you for allowing us to walk close to you. In your Son’s Name. Amen.
