Celebrating the LORD’s goodness can be effortless when experiencing answered prayers, delighting in a tranquil setting, or enjoying a season of abundance. However, when we are facing a stressful work situation, family discord, health challenges, or financial strain, the LORD’s goodness may seem like a distant memory. Recognizing His goodness becomes even more compounded when challenges are multiplying, intensifying, or lingering for a prolonged period of time.
While today’s text is an excellent declaration to claim daily, it is an especially beneficial verse to cling to when circumstances are trying to usurp our belief in His goodness. This is because the verse provides us with two of His unwavering promises. First, as believers, we can rest in knowing that not just on some but all the days of our lives we can experience His goodness. Second, regardless of how chaotic our situation is, we have access to His calming presence both now and throughout eternity.
Dear Heavenly Father, Thank you for being the inextinguishable source of goodness. Help us during challenging times to remember your promise that goodness and mercy shall follow us all the days of our lives. In the strong name of Jesus, Amen.
