Extraterrestrial? – Genesis 1:2

Extraterrestrial?

Genesis 1:2 – “The Spirit of God was hovering over the waters.”

Absolutely! Extraterrestrial means “from outside the earth (Tara) or it’s atmosphere”. Genesis 1:1 of the Bible Old Testament tells us, “In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth. The second verse, 1:2 , goes on to say, “the earth was without form and void, and darkness was over the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters.” In the New Testament of the Bible, John 1:1 tells us further that in the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God, and the Word was God…!:3 All things were made through him, and without him was not anything made that was made”. So, from the inception of the world, an extraterrestrial of three parts was over, around, and throughout the earth.

The book of Psalms goes further relating in Psalms 33:6 – “By the word of the Lord the heavens were made, and by the breath of his mouth all their (heaven’s) host…”. We know Very Little about this “host” God created in the heavens other than what we surmise from other scripture or guess.

For example, references to angels, specifically a Michael and Gabriel, who are named as well as other specific angelic visitors not named are found throughout the Old and New Testaments.

Furthermore, two interesting events are recorded about extraterrestrials who are not referenced as angels. Both are recorded in II Kings. In the first event, Elijah, God’s important prophet, and Elisha, Elijah’s successor as God’s prophet, were walking to Bethel and on to Jericho. Elisha was trying to stay as physically close as possible, so Elijah would stay on earth and not go to be with God. II Kings 2:11 reports, “As they were walking along and talking together, suddenly a chariot of fire and horses of fire appeared and separated the two of them, and Elijah went up to heaven in a whirlwind.”

Later in II Kings 6:14`17, the king of Syria came and surrounded Dothan, where Elisha was staying, in order to kill Elisha. When Elisha’s servant came out in the morning and saw all the troops, he was fearful and thought they would die. Elisha prayed that the servant could see what Elisha saw, telling the servant in verse 16, “…for those who are with us are more than those who are with them.” In verse 17, when the young servants’ eyes could see what Elisha saw “…behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha.” How would a person from even the 1700s or 1800s describe any type of our airplanes or helicopters? Could it be these instances of chariots and horses of fire were the only reference words available that many thousand of years ago to describe extraterrestrials sent by God?

There were angels mentioned in the New Testament surrounding the birth of John the Baptist, and the birth of Jesus Christ, as well as an angel at the tomb where Jesus body had been buried.

Do these Bible examples tell us definitively if there are currently extraterrestrials on or above the earth. No.

However, we are reminded that extraterrestrials definitely do not necessarily mean bad things. Rather, these examples I’ve mentioned are of very good events. In Romans 8:38 and other scripture there is nothing that can separate us from God’s love and that He knows and sees everything above and below the earth. He reigns!
