Four Important Truths

Four Important Truths
Bridge
John 16:13
But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all the truth. He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears, and he will tell you what is yet to come.”

Through television, cell phones, laptops, or in face-to-face conversations with others, we have multiple sources for obtaining information. While there are many reliable informational outlets, today’s scripture reminds us the only source of unwaveringly consistent truth is the LORD.

Spending time in the scriptures helps us remain anchored in this truth. Although within His word is a treasure trove of truths, let’s start with four foundational ones. The most vital of these is understanding that the only way for remission of sins and for having life in abundance during our time on earth and in the hereafter is through accepting Jesus Christ is our Savior.  Jesus explains in John 11:25 “I am the resurrection and the life.  The one who believes in me will live, even though they die.”

Second, we are made in His image (Genesis 1:27) and we are fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalms 139:14). The deeper we grasp this truth, the more we are able to lay aside concerns about our shortcomings, mistakes, and imperfections and instead look to the One in whose image we are created.

Third, peace is ours regardless of the circumstances because Jesus has already conquered the world (John 16:33).  Allowing this to be a guiding truth in our lives prohibits us from being tossed about and/or getting off course during tumultuous times.

Finally, Jesus remains solidly the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow (Hebrew 13:8). That means the healings, teachings, and His powerful words and actions recorded in scripture are still accurate and accessible for us today.

Prayer:  Dear Heavenly Father, Thank you for being the source of truth in our lives. Help us remember that regardless of our circumstances, we can trust you in all things.  In the Strong Name of Jesus, Amen.
