Psalm 37:4 – “The angel of the Lord encamps around those who fear him, and he delivers them.” |
Frogs are such curious little creatures. There are those of the larger and greener variety while there are yet others who are small and actually kinda cute. Folklore says holding a frog will give you warts and of course, there are those who swear frog legs “taste just like chicken.”
But frogs can also be a reminder of our total reliance and need for God, every day and in every aspect of our lives. Think of the acronym, F-R-O-G, as “Fully Reliant On God” – FROG. Isn’t that a fun and easy way to remember that we have a loving God who wants us to rely on Him for everything? He wants us to rely on Him because He wants only the very best for us. Sometimes we unknowingly limit God’s presence or our need for Him by becoming so absorbed in life that His abiding presence may sadly not be felt or acknowledged. Still, God is there waiting for us and loving us no matter our feelings or circumstances.
He promises we will feel His presence and that He will walk with us daily as we become “Fully Reliant On God.” The Lord and King of the universe walks side by side with us. What an amazing and comforting thought.
I want to be “Fully Reliant On God” – every single day.
Dear God: Thank you for your love and for your promise to be with us. Help us to place our full reliance on You and your love for us. How comforting to know that you love each of us so much that You choose to walk beside us every day. Thank you for your loving presence. We love you, Lord. Amen.
