Psalms 62:1-2- “My soul finds rest in God alone; my salvation comes from Him. He alone is my rock and my salvation; He is my fortress, I will never be shaken.” |
At times I can be my own biggest obstacle in parenting. I get consumed in dwelling on the past and on my failures. I hold on to regrets and hurts while letting fear take control and overwhelm me. I forget that You are bigger than all my weaknesses and troubles. I forget that You can use all things for good, even on my worst days of motherhood. I come to You, and I ask You to help me remember.
Help me to make choices and act out of love and not fear. Help me to display a leadership that is both strong and gentle. Help me to be quick in apologizing when I am wrong and in asking for forgiveness and grace. Remind my heart of Your truths so I can be released from my fears. Why is my heart so forgetful? Help me to remember Your mercies are new every day. Help me to hear Your gentle and loving voice of conviction and drown out the voices of condemnation.
You are the perfect parent and I ask by Your Spirit to impart Your wisdom to me moment by moment. Grant me discernment to know what is truly on my child’s heart and mind. I can’t do this alone, without You. Thank You for being my rock in whom I take refuge. Thank You for being my hope and stay. Thank You for calling me your daughter and guiding and parenting me with endless love, grace, and mercy. I praise You and I surrender my household to You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
