Psalms 16:8 – “I keep the Lord before me always. And I will never leave His right side.” |
Sometimes we build our ladders with good intentions only to find it was not what we expected at the top. Sometimes we build our ladders on walls that society places value on and we think we must follow. We either sit at the top, unhappy, or we begrudgingly make our way back down the ladder so we can start anew. Most of us dislike moving backwards. It makes us feel like failures because even though someone is at the top, but unhappy, we often times regard them as more successful.
Healing sometimes feels like you’re going backwards in life, maybe even temporarily in a darker place, only to find a bright light shining on the other side! Keep your hope in God! With every mountain is a valley, with progress there are setbacks. We have to give ourselves grace when we find ourselves moving backwards or when we’re further back than we want to be.
It’s in our challenges and our struggles that we grow. Be grateful for your struggles, because those are the times when your faith is tested, stretched and strengthened! It is God who strengthens us, and works to good these difficult times.
