Mark 16:15 -“Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation.” |
My wife and I were watching a made for TV movie “After The Promise” starring Mark Harmon. He has this conversation with a woman. “I noticed you’re not wearing a wedding ring. She: “I can explain that. I’m not married.” He “Would you go to the movie with me?” (This is their first ever conversation.) She: “I never (long pause) like to go to the movies alone. You have no one to talk to about it after.” I am that way. I enjoy discussing experiences that I share with others. My wife is my “movie partner.” I scout them out, weed out the bad ones, and invite her to watch the good ones with me. We watched a sad one last night. “Who Will Love My Children”. It starred Ann Margaret. We talk them over after we watch them. One review said “I never knew anyone else who had seen this movie, so I have had no one to share it with.” I read books occasionally. And I encourage my wife and friends and family to read the good ones. Because I want to share my experience with someone dear to me. As I listened to Lou Cusato praying during worship yesterday, (he led one of our prayers), he mentioned how we love to tell friends about good movies, and would that we would do the same with the Gospel. Father in heaven, help us to hold the Good News as dear to our hearts, and help us to tell the story, in Jesus’ name, Amen!
