James 4:14 – “For what is your life? It is even a vapor that appears for a little time and then vanishes away.” |
Tuesday, I was headed to the men’s room, and as I passed the water filler station, Dorcas was filling a 2 liter drinking jug. She: “I see you walking in the morning. You got me started doing it.” Me: “Yes, I have seen you on your walks.” What I didn’t tell her was that I had taken a break from my walks, and seeing her do it is what inspired me to get back to it.
I thought about how we can encourage each other without realizing it. I made a point of walking on my lunch hour. I make two laps around our campus, which amounts to a total of 1 mile and 2 tenths. I noticed the white puffy clouds, and I thought about a song written by Joni Mitchell. “Both Sides Now.” Clouds can appear soft like a pillow, but at times they spew hail and tornadoes. I like the song, as it makes me think about the two sides of life.
Father in heaven, thank You for Your love for us, and for keeping us from the evil one, in Jesus’ name, Amen!
