1 Corinthians 2:16 – “ For who has known the mind of the Lord so as to instruct him?’ But we have the mind of Christ.” |
This Monday is in remembrance of all Americans who died defending our country throughout the world.
Today’s text suggests two options for directing our thoughts. First, we can spend time pondering about what is on the mind of the LORD. Spending time reading and meditating on His word provides glimpses of how the LORD thinks. This can be beneficial in directing our own thoughts. Because of our finite abilities in contrast to the expansiveness and limitless ones of the LORD, we will never fully grasp all of His great and deep thoughts. However, we can spend a lifetime enjoying new revelations as He sees fit to reveal.
Secondly, because of having the mind of Christ, we can direct our thoughts toward what is of importance to Him. Luke 19:10 shares a primary focus, “For the Son of Man came to seek and save the lost.” Therefore, frequently taking the time to pray and think about ways of bringing the Good News to those within our local communities and throughout the world helps us be participants in those things that matter to Jesus.
