Isaiah 49:10 – “They will neither hunger nor thirst, nor will the desert heat or the sun beat down on them. He who has compassion on them will guide them and lead them besides springs of water.” |
Today’s text provides an apt description of Texas summers, for there is plenty of severe heat and ample hours of the sun beating down on us. Since shady spots are hard to come by, we limit our outdoor time to between 8:00 p.m. until 6:00 a.m., or we may try staying in close proximity to area lakes or swimming pools.
Difficult times that beset us due to personal, work, or family strife can feel like desert heat with an unrelenting sun beating down on us. During such times, we have a shady spot we can run to. When we turn to the LORD, we are assured that He will have compassion on us and will guide us to a place where there are springs of water.
Dear Heavenly Father, When we are facing difficulties, help us remember you are our shady spot. We are thankful for your compassion and guidance to springs of water when challenges arise. In the Strong Name of Jesus, Amen.
