Luke 6:31 – “Taste and see that the Lord is good; How blessed is the man who takes refuge in Him!” |
I recently watched a movie about a lady all alone, stranded on the moon. Imagine for a moment that it was you, alone, on the moon. No beautiful bright colors, no trees, no flowers, no grass, no vegetation, no natural oxygen, pasty pale skin for lack of sun, no rain, no companionship, no love. Can you imagine? It made me think of all the gifts from God that we may take for granted.
Today’s text calls us to stop and see that we are not alone! God is with us. Look around…taste and see that the Lord is good! He made a special place in the universe just for us! Creation speaks of the power of God!
The promise of eternal life is the ultimate expression of the goodness of God! Taste and see that the Lord is good!
Dear God, as we begin this new day, may we stop to “taste and see” your goodness that is all around us. Help us to see that you are our good “refuge.” Thank you that we are not alone. You are with us! Amen.
