1 Peter 5:7 – “Cast all anxiety on Him because He cares for you.” |
Many things can be distressing in this life. Trying to handle our problems without the help of God allows fearfulness, faint-heartedness, and nervousness to easily settle into our spirit. A broken relationship, alarming diagnosis, loved one in trouble, impossible deadline, overbearing boss or coworker and this global pandemic are all part of the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places. My friends, God does not give us a spirit of fear, but He has given us power. He has given us power to endure hardship, a sound mind to discern His will, and He gives us strength and courage to stand firm regardless of our situation.
What is it that disturbs you? God is an ever-present help in times of trouble. He promises to receive our worries and cares, and we can trust Him to handle them in the way that is best. He takes our burdens and molds us to be better fit for His Kingdom. He helps us to experience purpose in our pain, to grow in our suffering and He strengthens us to have patience and longsuffering with joy! He has the authority to turn our pain into something incredibly good. Get up each morning and put on the full armor of God, so that you may stand firm and be prepared for all the slings and arrows the devil has schemed against you. Don’t let go of the shield of faith with which you can extinguish all the flaming darts of Satan! Talk to the Lord all day, every day. Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you.
