Proverbs 25:11- “A word fitly spoken is like apples of gold in a setting of silver.” |
This morning when I was at work, I began feeling progressively worse. Coughing, sore throat and headache. I was just struggling through the morning trying to do my best until everyone arrived for the day.
My thoughts were pretty much consumed with “I feel awful”, “I need to go back to bed” and “I hope I don’t start coughing with anyone around!” I was walking down the hall thinking what a rough morning it was, and to my surprise, a nurse met me around the corner with cough drops, throat soothers and extra strength Tylenol. When she appeared with exactly what I needed, it brought new life to the meaning of ‘golden apples on a silver tray’. Her words were soft and gentle as she said, “I think these might help you to feel better, and drinking hot tea should help your throat also.’ Her gift and advice were timely!
Her calming words and sweet gesture lifted my spirits and made the day easier! I automatically found myself more focused on the kindness of people rather than my temporary bad health. Her words of wisdom gave me clarity, peace of mind and were beautiful for my soul.
