Psalm 121:3-4 – “He will not let your foot slip—He who watches over you will not slumber; indeed, He who watches over Israel will neither slumber nor sleep.” |
I was helping Milo through his bedtime routine. “Time to brush your teeth” said I. I found the toothpaste in a zip lock bag. Me to myself: “Wonder why they keep it in a zip lock.” It was right next to the toothbrushes. I get it out and pop the top. “Milo, is this the toothpaste you use?” Milo: “Papa, that is butt cream!” Me: “Oops. Sorry!” I have almost brushed my own teeth with cream for sore muscles. When we do things routinely (and very early in the morning when we are not fully alert) it is easy to do the wrong thing. Once I took my dog’s med (at least I had it on my tongue, and spit it out quickly). My wife once took our son’s med for ADHD accidentally. Sometimes I forget to take my meds because I am not at home in my routine. Once I wandered all over the house for 15 minutes or so looking for a pair of socks that were thrown over my shoulder. I finally saw them when I looked at myself in the mirror. It is good to have a God who does not do such things. He never even sleeps, according to the Psalm. Father in heaven, thank You for keeping your eyes on us always, in Jesus’ name, Amen!
