| Colossians 3:17 – “And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.” |
As followers of Christ whether we are sharing, hearing, singing, or in conversation concerning the word of God; or in whatever action throughout our entire life related to God or man, or one another, in the world or church, we should do all through the strength and guidance of Christ. Without Him nothing can be well done.
The things for which thanks are to be given, are all things. The person to whom thanks is to be given is God the Father, the Father of our spirits, our Lord Jesus Christ. There is no other way of bringing and offering the sacrifices of praise and thanksgiving to God other than by him alone.
Heavenly Father, search my heart, I pray, and see if there is anything that is preventing me from living for you. May all I do in word and deed, be carried out in the name of Jesus. Keep my eyes looking to you and my heart ready to do your will. Thank You, Father, that you who started a good work in me, will complete it in the day of Christ Jesus. To You be all honor and praise, thanksgiving and worship. In Jesus’ name, AMEN.
