| Colossians 1:22 – “But now he has reconciled you by Christ’s physical body through death to present you holy in his sight, without blemish and free from accusation.” |
Today’s text is a simple yet timelessly elegant message of reconciling with the LORD. Although Jesus’ death and resurrection occurred over 2,000 years ago, it is both humbling and reassuring to consider that the promises Jesus brought forth remain unchanged.
In humility we recognize that if we rely only on our own strength, intellect and abilities, we are woefully inept for reconciling our shortcomings with our Heavenly Father. Even if diligently trying to avoid the pitfalls of sin, Romans 3:23 tells us “all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.”
What a burden is lifted when acknowledging reconciliation is possible through accepting the grace extended to us through Jesus’ death and resurrection. In doing so, we walk in freedom and peace, for our Heavenly Father sees us as pure and unblemished, bathed in the light radiating from His sacrifice. And His beautiful promise of reconciliation continues steadfastly unchanging, for Jesus Christ remains the same yesterday, today and forever (Hebrews 13:8).
Prayer
Dear Heavenly Father, thank you that because of your great love for us, reconciliation is possible through Jesus’ sacrifice. Help us boldly communicate this hope of reconciliation to others desperately needing to hear this message. In the strong name of Jesus, Amen.
