| Isaiah 42:13 – “The LORD goes out like a mighty man, like a man of war he stirs up His zeal; He cries out, He shouts aloud, He shows Himself mighty against His foes.” |
During the first and second World Wars, buying war bonds helped the government finance war efforts, and the purchaser could later redeem the bond with interest. Making this investment certainly helped send necessary equipment and supplies to those fighting valiantly for our protection and freedom.
As believers, we have an opportunity to invest in something that helps us in our own battles. And, it is much more powerful and effective than even the most superiorly trained and well equipped military force. Plus, the payout far exceeds that of any type of financial investment we could make. This investment is the one made when asking Jesus to be our Savior, and then continuing to grow into a deep relationship with Him. This type of investment connects us to the One of whom nothing is impossible. He can never be defeated, no matter how crafty or strong our adversaries are. There are many more benefits, including the assurance He will never leave nor forsake us, and He promises us that we will spend eternity with Him.
Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for being our Savior and for Your desire to remain in relationship with us. Help us to remember when facing challenges; You are the mighty warrior who always triumphs over our foes. In the Strong Name of Jesus, Amen.
