| Hosea 3:5 – “Afterward the sons of Israel will return [in deep repentance] and seek the LORD their God and [seek from the line of David their king [the King of kings-the Messiah]; and they will come trembling to the LORD and to His goodness and blessing in the last days.” |
This verse is a wonderful promise of hope and rebuilding. The children of
Israel turned away from God and were in disobedience. Now, the time is coming when they
turn back to God with a yearning to seek Him.
The God we serve is a good God and He wants us to pursue Him in our daily lives. When we seek the Lord’s guidance and trust in Him to give us wisdom, knowledge, strength, courage, hope, and faith, we will find that He is faithful!
I am moving back to Michigan next April! While I was attending my dad’s Sunday church service, l asked the Lord in prayer to tell me if this is what I was supposed to do? At the end of service a lady came up to me and said ‘are you really thinking of moving back?’ I said ‘I am thinking about it’. She answered with a smile, ‘well, you have a job when you get here.’ I also was asked to help with prison ministry and to help at the teenage crisis center with teen pregnancy. I turned to the Lord asked Him for guidance and what a response I received!
Now, I know God will guide every step of the move, because when He gives an
assignment, He shows His goodness! There may be bumps in the road, but I just have to
keep my eyes turned on Him and have faith everything will fall into place.
This verse is letting us know that the people of Israel will turn back and have the goodness of
God. We are God’s children. Even if we have gone astray, when we turn back to God, we receive His goodness! Isn’t that a great reality check for all of us? God will always be here for us!
Lord, thank you for this word reminding us we are never alone, we just have to seek you and
you will be there with love, guidance and your goodness. AMEN
