| Hebrews 11:1 – “Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see.” |
One of the most powerful confessions in the New Testament was from the lips of a Roman centurion.
He oversaw the execution of a Jewish carpenter from Nazareth.
After an earthquake shook the ground as marbles, the temple curtain torn like tissue paper and corpses walked the streets of Jerusalem, the centurion powerfully declared of Jesus, “Surely, he was the Son of God.” (Matthew 27:54)
It was a monumental acknowledgement many had yet to make.
He logically concluded what any sane person would deduce. The crucified victim had breathed His last. From the outside looking in, the party was over.
Some fifty days later at Pentecost, a plane of salvation would be unveiled for the world.
We’re all living on borrowed time. Each one of us has a date with death and obedience doesn’t wait for earthly departure.
“Jesus is the Son of God. He is the same yesterday, today and forever. (Hebrews 13:8
