John 6:27 – “Do not work for food that spoils, but for food that endures to eternal life, which the Son of Man will give you. For on Him God the Father has placed His seal of approval.”
For many of us, our days overflow with responsibilities. These can be related to meeting work or school deadlines, caring for our families, or completing tasks for our church or other community organizations.
Recently, during a hectic day, I felt I was continually juggling to respond to competing priorities. It was only when I finally paused from the chaos to spend time in prayer that I was redirected to what the day’s priority truly was. It is one that never changes for any of us, whether facing an overfilled calendar or an evenly paced day.
Certainly, while completing tasks related to the health and well-being of our families and ourselves is important, this does not change the fact that our priority remains seeking, trusting and believing in the One known as the Bread of Life. In fact, only through prioritizing our relationship with the LORD can we find the help needed to meet all of life’s other priorities.
Dear Heavenly Father, forgive us when we allow busyness and earthly concerns to divert our focus from You. Help us to remember our relationship with You remains our priority over everything else in our lives. In the Strong Name of Jesus, Amen.
