| Proverbs 4:23 – “Above all else, guard your heart, for it is the wellspring of life.” |
A ‘wellspring’ is defined as a source of continual supply. The heart is a continual supply for our emotions, attention and stress! The heart sends more signals to the brain than it receives from the brain! It is capable of making decisions independent of the brain! Isn’t that amazing!
Our heart is either a mine full of valuable minerals, or we might look at it as a mine containing a charge of explosive, typically buried under a shallow layer of dirt for the purpose of blowing up anything close by.
Three ways to ensure you are guarding your heart:
Read your Bible to make decisions based on biblical truths rather than emotions. Choose your friends wisely and strive to be around those who encourage your faith!
