| Mark 1:31 -: “So he went to her, took her hand and helped her up. The fever left her and she began to wait on them.” |
Jesus came to Simon’s mother-in-law, took her by the hand, lifted her up, and immediately the fever left her. What stands out to me is how gently Jesus moved toward her. He did not complain, hesitate, or tell anyone to wait. He simply came close, reached for her hand, and lifted her.
When I read this passage, I see more than physical healing. I see Jesus lifting the weight of fear, bondage, weakness, and anything else that had kept her down. He restored her strength, and from that place of healing, she rose and served.
When God blesses us with healing, strength, resources, wisdom, compassion, or ability, we are called to rise and use those gifts to serve others. We can love, help, offer grace in difficult moments, and show compassion, even when it is hard.
God restores us so we can get up, press on, and become a light to others in dark places. We are not meant to remain defeated. We are called to rise, stand strong, and serve in whatever capacity God has given us.
Prayer
Lord, thank You for Your all-consuming love and mercy toward us. Thank You for reaching out Your hand and patiently waiting for us to release our burdens, let go, and hold on to You. Heal us, lift us, and teach us to love, serve, and live as overcomers.
Amen and amen.
