Isaiah 9:6 – “For to us a child is born, to us a son is given; …and His name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.” |
Everything is going to be okay! I am thinking of my family and friends who are suffering in the midst of this holiday season. Sickness, Distress, Abandonment, Loss thru divorce, death and jobs, Marital difficulty, Worry, Tears for not knowing what the future holds. How does one handle extreme Physical and/or Emotional Pain? Yet, I feel a peace in the middle of it all. With hopes of helping someone else find a nugget to help navigate through difficult times, I want to share some of my prayer thoughts. Have a talk with Jesus. There is a reason that He is called Wonderful Counselor & Mighty God! He can do all things, even put peace and joy in our heart when outside circumstances do not dictate the same. You can remember the acronym A C T S:
1. Adoration: “Lord I know you are All-Powerful, and can do anything! You created all things and work everything out to good for those that love you. You love me and care about me. You know that I love you. I know that you have promised heaven to all of us who believe in you, Jesus. I know that you can do all things and nothing is too hard for you.
2. Confession: Lord if there is sin in my life that you are disciplining me for, please let me know what it is and do not let me sin against you to where it cost me my salvation. Help me to know my sin and not recommit it. Lord, help me to honor You all the days of my life. Please draw myself along with every member of my family to you, and take each one of us , without the loss of one, to heaven in the end. Heaven is what I desire more than anything.
3. Thanksgiving: Thank you for all that You have done for me. You are a good God! Thank you for sending your very heart down to earth wrapped in flesh in order to allow us to spend eternity with You.” Thank you for my sweet husband, kids, grandkids, home, friends, church, job, car (give Him your list)… Thank you for promising to never leave us nor forsake us.
4. Supplication: Please give your divine help with these seemingly unsurmountable problems. I know all things are possible with You!
The Word has said that our life is like a vapor, here for a little while and gone. I know that no matter how difficult things are, You are holding my hand. Please help me to pass any testing of my heart and help me hold fast to the faith You have given me. I am asking you for…(fill in the blank) Lord, it fills my heart with joy merely thinking of You actually saying to me these words, (fill in your name) “____, my good and faithful servant”. I can hardly wait to hear it!!! Lord, help me be able to say at the end of my life that I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Henceforth there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, will award to me on that Day, and not only to me, but also to all who have loved His appearing. This I ask you in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen! Yes, everything is going to be okay!
