A Peach – Acts 17:28

Acts 17:28 – ‘For in Him we live and move and exist, as even some of your own poets have said, ‘For we also are His children.’

Yesterday, I was home early from work. I did so as our A/C service man was checking out a noise in our outside unit. I washed a peach in the kitchen while he was working outdoors. I noticed a dark area on the skin and bit in. It was a rotten spot and I spit it out in the sink.

The part next to it looked normal, so I bit there. It tasted pretty good, until I saw movement in the part exposed by my last bite. It was a worm. I quickly emptied my mouth into the sink. The old riddle goes “What is worse than finding a worm in an apple? (Pause here for effect.). Half a worm!”. I was glad the guy was in one piece. I thought about having something alive in my stomach. Like a worm. The pelican swallows fish alive. Whew!

My wife when pregnant would grab my hand and put it on her belly where a foot belonging to a tiny guy inside was pressing against the wall of his quarters.

God’s spirit lives in us. Some say the Spirit “moved” them to take action.

Father in heaven, thank You for living in us, in Jesus’ name, Amen!
