Are We Honest?
Walking in the Light
1 John 1:6 – “If we claim to have fellowship with him and yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not live out the truth.”

As believers we desire to be honest in all avenues of our lives. Today’s text identifies where we could falter when trying to maintain honesty. That could happen if our thoughts, words, or actions are out of alignment with who we claim to be in Christ.

Acting honestly means we steadfastly remain focused on Him, regardless of how dark and menacing our circumstances are becoming. Additionally, it means we remind others who are weary, discouraged, or fearful that the LORD is faithful and is a refuge to all who call upon Him.

Acting honestly translates into seeking first His counsel when making decisions and implementing plans. Also, it means perpetually remembering to express gratitude and praise to Him for answered prayers and receiving unexpected blessings. Intentionally aligning our thoughts, words and actions to signify we are in fellowship with Him also helps us to act honestly.

Dear Heavenly Father,

Thank you for loving us and desiring fellowship with us. Help us to always align our thoughts, words, and actions to reflect we are walking in Your light. In the Strong Name of Jesus, Amen
