|1 Thessalonians 5:2 – “For you know quite well that the day of the Lord’s return will come unexpectedly, like a thief in the night.”|
The Bible says that when the Lord comes again, it will be a surprise, like a thief who comes at night. He will come when people are feeling safe and have peace.
His coming will be a shocking arrival, and destruction will come quickly! Let’s not be caught up in that calamity! We are children of light, we will not be trapped unprepared by the arrival of Christ. Let each of us be found sober minded, exercising love and self-control, while having nothing to do with the deeds of darkness.
One of my favorite Scriptures is “God did not choose us to suffer His anger. God chose us to have salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ. Jesus died for us so that we can live together with Him” The most frightening truth in Scripture is that God’s final judgement will send the wicked to an eternal hell. Yet, we are truly a blessed people. The most delightful news for believers is that God has not destined us to suffer His wrath! God who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in sin, gave us new life with Christ. We have been saved by grace! His death paid the penalty for our sins!
Join me in thanking the Lord that there is no condemnation for those of us who are in Christ Jesus! Make certain that whether it be day or night, we are found living as a light to the world. We can look forward to Christ’s surprising and mighty arrival, with anticipation and great joy as we wear the helmet of the hope of our salvation.
