| Matthew 11:28 – “Come to Me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” |
Rest does not come easily to most people, especially those accustomed to being the provider, the safety net, or the protector. Life can be overwhelming, but there is a place of safety and rest always available to you in Jesus.
In our fast-paced world, life is demanding, and we often demand just as much from ourselves to keep moving forward. However, God invites us to lay our burdens, pains, hopes, and dreams in His capable hands. I have struggled with rest myself, but the Lord is teaching me that rest does not have to be earned through productivity or recognition; it is a requirement and an example God established at creation.
While we are called to work and walk in faith, we are also called to rest. The Lord cares for you and provides a safe place for you to lay your head. Do not grow weary; continue forward by trusting God and resting often so your soul can be restored as you meditate on Him.
Closing Prayer
Lord Jesus, thank You for being our true place of rest. Help us lay down every burden, fear, and pressure. Teach us to receive rest as a gift rather than something to be earned. Remind us that You are our provider and our peace. Restore our minds and renew our strength as we trust Your capable hands with our responsibilities and cares. Amen.
