Can we spend a little time together? – Romans 12:10

Can we spend a little time together?
Romans 12:10 – “Be devoted to one another in love. Honor one another above yourselves.”

I felt more like a grandfather today. I got off work early and came right home to engage in activities with our grandson. He saw my new birdbath that I received from our youngest son, and asked me to put water in it so he could watch the birds bathing. I did.

He sat close by, waiting for our first customer. I announced loudly “bird baths FREE! No charge!” Me: “They may ask you to hold their towels while they bathe.” Milo: “What?” Me: “Let’s put bird seed in the feeder, then it will be like a hotel, food and bath.” Milo liked that. Then we sat on the glider swing waiting for rush hour to come. I informed him that birds have excellent eyesight, and will spot the bath and food quickly. No birds showed up. Maybe the wrong time of day for that.

I fired up the charcoal grill and after 30 minutes put on two big, thick rib eye steaks. They smelled so good. Little things make into big things, given time to percolate through our memory.

Father in heaven, help me to make time for the little people in my life, in Jesus’ name, Amen!
