Revelation 3:10 – “Since you have kept my command to endure patiently, I will also keep you from the hour of trial that is going to come on the whole world to test the inhabitants of the earth.” |
Sticking with a commitment is not something that comes easily to many people. When things get difficult or painful, it is all too easy to give up and take the easy way out of the situation or conflict. Whether in personal relationships, a job I disliked, or participating in a physical sport or challenge, I know that I have failed many times to fulfill my promises.
But how much more important it is to keep my commitment to God – to pray, study the Bible, join with other believers in worship, etc. Only by ‘showing up’ in the tough or inconvenient times are my true muscles developed – muscles of faith, joy, love, gentleness, patience, and peace. I cannot expect these blessings if I am not willing to do the work during the difficult times. Hang in there when it’s hard. Better days are coming.
Dear Father, thank you for seeing me, even when I am struggling to endure the difficult times we all experience. Help me to stay strong – remind me of verses to guide me and send someone into my path to provide a word of encouragement. Thank You for loving me. Amen
