| Romans 12:12 – “Rejoice in our confident hope. Be patient in trouble and keep on praying.” |
This is a powerful verse that shows us how we can find joy and hope even in the hardest seasons. But if we are honest, living this verse out can seem impossible. Yet, this verse isn’t an out of reach idea. It’s an invitation to a deeper, richer way of living. It challenges us to shift our focus from the storms around us to the One who’s bigger than the storm.
Being hopeful, practicing patience, and prayer practice, can help us stay faithful despite difficulties in this world. After all, we have the marvelous hope of everlasting life, so this allows us to have joy even while enduring hardships because we know this is not the end.
As we constantly seek God’s guidance through hope, patience, and prayer, we can count on him to lead us in all areas of our life. We know that God will hear us, answer our prayers, maybe not as we asked, but according to his will. We also know that if we persist in hope, patience, and prayer, God will give us the strength we need to stay faithful no matter the trial. It will help us to face difficult times with faith and dignity. When we steadfastly serve even through trials, our faith will ultimately be strengthened.
When life feels overwhelming, hope can feel far away and patience nearly impossible and if you’re feeling stuck or overwhelmed by problems, or maybe you’ve been praying but nothing seems to be changing; this is the verse you need.
Know that you’re not alone. And that’s exactly why this verse is so powerful. It doesn’t ignore the hard stuff. It acknowledges that life is messy and painful. But it also gives us a roadmap to find joy, patience, and strength even when everything feels impossible.
