| James 4:2 – “You desire and do not have, so you murder. You covet and cannot obtain, so you fight and quarrel. You do not have, because you do not ask” |
You know- I suppose the best, personal experiences-are when we just have them. And I did. Excuse me while I eat the last bite of my piece of humble pie
. I had an unfortunate encounter with a man about my missing passenger glass on my car. (Don’t ask how or why it was missing. That is for the next piece of my pie.)
About two weeks ago-it started sliding down-and eventually it just stayed down-no matter how many times I tried to raise it.
So. stuffed with a cover for my windshield my sister gave me to keep the snow off, I was coming out of town-and I noticed an old worker I used to work with in a factory in that town-whose shop was open. I tried to get a hold of him previously to do my glass but did not have any success(that is what happens when you are the only guy who replaces car windows in 6 counties), I said” Hey!—-, after I pulled up to his shop and he came out-had some short talk then went right to the problem). “Oh,” he said,” Yeah I can hear it whirring. See the such and such got wrapped together-and such and such.” So he got it to go up all the way, proceeded to tape it so it stayed. “Yeah, you might get better tape.”Will it come down?” I asked. “Well, if it rains…” Then on down the road I went.
What is completely wrong with this whole entire picture? Yes. Exactly. I NEVER ASKED THE DUDE TO FIX MY WINDOW SO IT WOULDN”T COME DOWN!
How many times, have I asked The Lord things, yet bounced around the subject, never asking him specifically to fix my problem. “I am content with the tape on the window, Lord.”
A police officer was trying to find a missing child. He asked the Lord-” Do you know where this kid is at?” Where is she Lord.”-He found the child that very day.
” Ye have not-because ye ask not.” James 4:2.
