Psalm 146:9 – “The Lord watches over the sojourners; He upholds the widow and the fatherless…” |
The stranger, widow, and orphan are all defenseless and looked upon as objects of compassion. They are specifically under God’s care…protection and provision. His merciful protection of His people will lead Him to bend, distort, and overturn the ways of the wicked.
As a widow of a young child, I was frightened to be left alone. I knew that God would walk in front of me; however, I did not know what His plans were. One evening shortly after the news, my in laws began appearing at my door in robe and pajamas to spend the night with us. They took turns for about three months. By that time, I felt strong and safe and insisted that they stay home.
God blessed me through them by showing their love and kindness to help me grow strong. His provision is perfect…timely…and appears in ways we could not orchestrate on our own.
