This was not the first year, but for Christmas 2023, I gave our three sons “Dinner with Dad”. They pick the place and the time, and I buy our dinner. It is a gift that makes a memory, I figure. Benjamin redeemed his gift today. We met at Sonny Bryan’s for lunch. He ordered a Frito Pie, which has pulled pork on it, and I ordered the same after he had ordered. We both ordered water to drink. I paid, and then asked the cashier for a water glass. She: “Oh, I gave yours to your son.” I caught up with him and got my glass from him. Then I went back to the cashier. Me: “How did you know he was my son?” I knew the answer, I just wanted to hear it from her. “He looks just like you. Your twin.” I smiled. I hear that so much when I am with him. Jesus said “If you have seen Me, you have seen the Father.” This was in response to “Show us the Father.” It would be the ultimate compliment to hear this: “I knew you were a Christian. You act like Jesus.” Father in heaven, help us to know You so we can resemble You, in Jesus’ name, Amen!
