Just Ask!

Matthew 7:7 – “Ask and it shall be given to you; seek, and you shall find; knock and the door will be open to you.”

Part of my daily prayer is for God to make me who He created me to be, and for Him to guard the salvation of my entire family from here until He comes again. But sometimes, I ask the Lord for a personal favor that may not have anything to do with my salvation. I tell Him that I don’t want it if it interferes with His divine plan. He often gives me what I ask for, and I have no doubt it is from Him just because He loves me. If I don’t get it, I know it wasn’t the right thing to ask for and I am totally fine with whatever God says, as I trust Him implicitly!

We all have times that we just don’t know what to do. We need wisdom! If you lack wisdom, God gives generously to all who ask. There may be things you do not have because you never asked. When you ask, be sure that you ask without doubting the power, ability, and willingness of God to help you! If you struggle with thinking you may not be good enough for God to answer your prayers, consider the story in Daniel. The angel, Gabriel, said “Daniel, from the first day that you set your heart to understand, and to humble yourself before your God, your words were heard’.” Gabriel told Daniel that as soon as he began praying, God sent the angel to fly swiftly to give him what he asked for.

If you seek God and desire to know how to live in a way that pleases Him, you will find all the answers you need in your diligent study of the Bible. God will not deny anyone the privilege of finding Him if they earnestly seek Him! Knowing God as your friend is the most wonderful gift you will ever receive!

God created us to do good, to be strong and to succeed. When we knock on a door, depending on the importance of what is needed, we might knock louder, longer, and faster. When you need help, keep knocking in prayer and the door will be opened to you. Be sure what you are asking is not self-serving and can bring honor to the Lord.
