I don’t know about you but I have a long way to go in my personal and spiritual growth. I often get discouraged and I feel like I should have life together at my age. I carry a constant sense of disappointment in myself, a feeling that I am not who I need to be, that I’m not doing enough for the Kingdom, and that I need to try harder. Yet, when I try harder on my own to fix me and life, I only fail again.
I know this. I am not where I need to be, but thank God I’m not where I used to be. I know with all my heart that God isn’t finished or disappointed in me just because I haven’t arrived yet. He’s pleased that I’m pressing on.
If we will just “keep on keeping on,” God is pleased with our progress. He has promised to light the path before us. We may not know the way, and we will stumble from time to time, but God is faithful. He sees our progress and He’s going to help us get back on the right path!
Dear God, Help me not get discouraged about where I am. You’ve already brought me so far, and I know that You will continue to light my way.
