| Colossians 3:23-24 – “23 Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, 24 since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving.” |
Life is a difficult and arduous journey—so challenging and gut wrenching, many refuse to believe in God.
How could a loving God allow His prized creation to suffer? That fair question has been asked by millions of broken hearts for thousands of years.
Amidst life’s perils, it’s imperative to remember this vital truth:
If you don’t know your purpose, you’ll only know your problems.
The path that Jesus paves is never easy. He expects us to count the cost (Luke 9: 57-62). He informs us that there will be troubles (John 16: 33). This all while the evil one fires flaming arrows to deter or destroy us. But remembering our purpose keeps us faithful. When we forget our purpose, we veer off course.
So, what is our purpose?
1: Glorify God
Every moment of every day, every victory and every defeat, should be wrapped in worship. Peter said that God saved us so we could declare His praises (1 Peter 2: 9). Paul said that that in all things we are working for the Lord (Colossians 3: 23-24). When trials come, we surrender our suffering to God’s glory.
2: Make Heaven Crowded
How can you use your God given gifts to grow the Kingdom?
If in all things we strive to glorify God and make heaven crowded, we won’t be controlled by our problems.
Why? Because we know our purpose.
My friend, if you don’t know your purpose, you’ll only know your problems. So, what do you know?
