Last night I had the strangest dream – Psalm 14:1

Psalm 14:1 – “The fool said in his heart, ‘There is no God'”
In our Sunday morning adult Bible classes at our church, we are studying Moses. A couple of weeks ago, we covered the 10 plagues. When Pharaoh finally turned the Israelites loose, Egypt was in ruins. It was, a short time earlier, the greatest nation on earth. The one responsible was God. God brought Egypt up, and He brought her down.

It all began with Pharaoh having a dream that he wanted an explanation for. Seven fat cows swallowed up by seven skinny cows. Joseph is called in to give the meaning of it all. “Interpretation of dreams comes from God.”

Because Egypt was warned of the coming worldwide famine, they rose to incredible power and wealth. All of their neighbors sold everything they owned to Egypt in exchange for grain they had socked away during the plentiful years. They got land, livestock, gold, currency, people. They got it all.

Now 430 years later, there is a new Pharaoh who thinks Egypt is great because of his good looks and charm. God wants to give him a history lesson, and also wants to serve him some humble pie. I can see some similarities to the times I am currently living in.

Father in heaven, thank You for your power and control, even in the face of denial and disbelief, in Jesus’ name, Amen!
