How often do we invite God to guide us, only to pursue our own wishes when His answers are not fast enough? Often, we don’t wait to consider whether our pursuits harmonize with God’s plan for our lives.
One reason God encourages us to wait is to protect us from ourselves. Trying to run the show is a hazard! By waiting, we develop the maturity and self-discipline to trust in His perfect timing.
Because God is all-knowing, we can trust that His plans are more magnificent than anything we could achieve on our own. By surrendering to God and submitting your desires to Him, you can begin to break free from temptation and discover His will for your life. It’s a difficult journey, but it can be done through Christ.
