Have you ever taken a look around the grocery store . . . I mean a really good look? If you have, you might just have been overwhelmed with the vast amount of selections available. Looking for some cheese? There are well over 50 different varieties, depending on flavor, style (shredded, cubed, string, crumbles, block, etc.), size of package and on and on. How about lunch meat? There is everything from gourmet in the deli to pre-packaged favorites to yes . . that proverbial bologna.
How about water. Yes . . . water. You would think that would be simple but oh no, there are just as many selections there. You’ve got sparkling, you’ve got mineral, you’ve got spring water and then there’s the size of bottle – 8 oz., 16 oz. etc. and then you must decide on the number of bottles from a single bottle to a four-pack to 40 bottles per package and beyond.
Whew! The amount of choices we are blessed to have is staggering and that’s just one grocery store! Think of all of the other grocery stores and other stores of all types that are just as full. We are incredibly blessed to have so much available to us.
How much more are we blessed by the myriad of blessings, God showers upon us every day? From the very air we breathe, shade on a sunny day, a hug or word of encouragement when it’s most needed, a relaxing vacation in a favorite spot, a goal worked for and striven toward that results in a personal victory, a secret smile shared with someone special. You fill in the blank. You know what fills your cup to overflowing.
God gives us all of those things and SO much more – every day and in every way imaginable.
Dear God: Thank you for your abundance toward us. You give us what we need even before we know we need it. You love and provide for us beyond our comprehension. How magnificent is your Name! Amen.
