No One Left Behind – Matthew 18:14

No One Left Behind
Man being rescued from the water
Matthew 18:14- “in the same way your Father in heaven is not willing that any of these little ones should perish.”

Most of us are familiar with the term “No one left behind.”   This slogan or variations of it are used as names of organizations, book titles, and is quoted by many in a variety of situations.   Today’s text indicates these words are much more than a slogan to the LORD.  It is His heart’s desire that every single person comes to the realization that He is our Savior and loves us beyond comparison.

Just as the shepherd described in Jesus’s parable of the lost sheep straying from the flock, the LORD is in relentless pursuit of all who have wandered off or have never accepted Him as Savior.  He longs for everyone to be in relationship with Him and to know that Jesus’s sacrifice on the cross is what gives us freedom in this life.  Plus, this is the assurance of the eternity awaiting us, where we will remain in His glorious presence forever.

As believers, we are blessed knowing the LORD’s heart is that no one is left behind.  However, this also is an impetus for it to be our burden.  Thus, we should be motivated to seek out the lost and share with as many as possible the good news of the peace, joy and love awaiting all who know Him as LORD and Savior.

Dear Heavenly Father, we are blessed beyond measure that your desire is that none perish without knowing You.  Help us to be boldly obedient to share the news of the saving grace of Jesus with all who so desperately need to hear it.  In the Strong Name of Jesus, Amen.
