| 1 Thessalonians 5:17 – “pray continually.” |
An acquaintance once said “I feel like my prayers don’t get past the ceiling.” Lately, I have felt like whether I pray or not, life goes on the same as it did. Then I remembered this. “And He did not do many miracles there because of their unbelief.” Wait!! Jesus couldn’t do miracles? Their unbelief was like Kryptonite to Jesus? I have come to see that in his home town, they did not believe Jesus to be anyone beyond the carpenter’s son. He was not the Son of God to them. No crowds begging for healing. No fuss. Nobody asked for a miracle. Prayer, I have come to see, is to ask God for a miracle. I take my life and plug it into the electrical outlet, and I am brought to life, connected to God’s power. No miracles are done when we don’t ask. When we stop praying, our world stops receiving. Father in heaven, thank You for hearing my prayers, in Jesus’ name, Amen!
