1 Timothy 2:1-3 – “I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people, for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. This is good, and pleases God our Savior.” |
Do we put praying for others as a priority in our lives? We are instructed in these verses on how to pray. There should be a desire in our hearts to pray for others, we can pray for healing, for prosperity or whatever may be the need at that time. This word also gives us four kinds of prayer:
1) Supplication – these are prayer requests by other people.
2) Prayers – this is an act of worship which requires our respect towards God and humble attitude.
3) Intercession – this is where we surrender to our Creator and have a relationship with our Father in Heaven, we can bring our request for others’ needs and concerns.
4) Prayers of Thanksgiving – this is giving thanks for answered prayers, being thankful for who our Lord and Savior is and what he has done.
There’s a song that is called “The Prayer”
“I pray you’ll be our eyes
And watch us wherever we go
And help us to be wise
In times when we don’t know
Let this be our prayer
When we lose our way
Lead us to a place
Guide us with your grace
To a place where we’ll be safe”
When we pray for others and get our minds off ourselves, this is good in God’s eyes and it pleases him. In our job, we always have an opportunity to pray for our co-workers and patient’s we care for. We can make a difference through prayer. The Lord will lead us to our safe place, he is our healer and provider.
Lord thank you for the opportunity to be a prayer warrior for you, thank you for always being available and answering our prayers for others and ourselves. You are a Good God Always! Amen.
