| Isaiah 43:19 – “I will make a road in the wilderness.” |
Jesus said that ‘Whatever you ask in prayer, you will receive’. If we ask and do not receive, it is because we ask with wrong motives.
There was a time in my life that I wasn’t finding satisfaction in my work. For two years, I prayed for a ‘good deed’ job that I would enjoy. Scripture says that it is a gift of God to find satisfaction in our toil. I prayed exactly for that! I told the Lord that He created me to like what I like! He knows exactly what kind of job that I would find satisfaction in! I really had no idea what it could possibly be. I just knew that what is impossible with man is possible with God. I wanted a job that I could honor Him every day as I helped others.
As I reflect over that time in my life, I can see that the Lord was making a road in the wilderness for me the entire time that I was asking Him. Over time, one thing led to another which led to another, and eventually I ended up with the most perfect job for me. Nothing that I would have ever thought for myself. “Include the Lord in your plans and He will make them successful!” It made me think of the back of a tapestry. All the threads being one big mess. But you turn it over and it presents a beautiful well put together picture.
Ask and it will be given to you.
