We all have needs and often worry about how we will pay the bills, have enough food, clothing, and daily provision. Worry often begins when we try to carry tomorrow’s burdens with today’s strength. It cannot add a single hour to our lives, solve a problem, or change the future. What is does is steal our peace, joy, and the ability to trust God in the present moment.
Jesus addresses worry directly in this verse. His answer is not to ignore our concerns but to shift our focus from our problems to God’s faithfulness. Jesus instructs His followers to direct their energy and devotion toward God’s kingdom and righteousness, assuring that when God is prioritized, the lesser needs of life will be met through His provision.
It means asking, “Lord, how should I honor You today?” before pursuing our own plans and desires. Living righteously means choosing obedience, integrity, kindness, and faithfulness even when it is difficult
Today, consider what is competing for first place in your heart. Bring those concerns to the Lord and place them in His hands. As you seek Him above all else, rest in the confidence that He is already taking care of you. |
