Whether it is through conversations with others or from social and mainstream media outlets, negativity, distress, and bleakness are conveyed in abundance. Although tempting to respond in a likewise fashion, today’s text suggests taking an alternative approach towards this influx of darkness.
We can choose to sprinkle in some sunshine in a myriad of ways. We can remind others how much they are loved by the LORD.
We can provide heartfelt appreciation for those working hard in their jobs, tirelessly volunteering within our churches or other non-profits, or who have extended to us or our families acts of kindness.
Another option could be to pause, listen to and pray with someone struggling through difficult circumstances. Choosing to sprinkle in some sunshine helps us to remember the LORD remains our strength and hope.
Dear Heavenly Father,
Thank you for being our continual source of strength and hope. Help us faithfully remember to encourage others to seek and serve You. In the Strong Name of Jesus, Amen.
