“How can I become a new me in the New Year”
Picture your life as a fruit field.
You want to produce fruit,
But all you seem to be able to do is keep the weeds cut low.
Somehow, the fruit seldom appears,
And when it does, it’s not very good.
That’s because fruits need good soil.
The only way to produce good fruit is to plow up the whole field
And start over with perfect soil and new plants.
That’s the way it is with man and sin.
We can’t live right,
Because the bad soil of temptation is all around us.
All we seem to be able to do, year after year, is keep our sins down low, hidden from sight.
But if you live that way you will never bear fruit.
You’ve got to allow Christ to ‘plow your field’ and replace it with good soil.
He can make all things new…
So new that you will be amazed at the fruit you will bear.
I am a new creature in Christ.
I bear fruit for the Lord.
And you can too.
Instead of making man-made resolutions this year,
Why not make a confession of faith in Jesus Christ?
As a new creature in Christ,
You can overcome your opposition.
As a new creature in Christ,
You will be able to resist temptation.
As a new creature in Christ,
You will be able to conquer your circumstances.
As a new creature in Christ,
You will be able to defeat all your discouragements.
Your faith in Christ will fight your battles,
Your faith in Christ will confront your enemies.
Your faith in Christ will bear your burdens.
Your faith in Christ will resist your temptations.
Your faith in Christ will destroy the weeds in your life,
And you will plow ahead in good soil,
And be able to bear the good fruit of the Spirit….
Love,
Joy,
Peace,
Long-suffering,
Gentleness,
Goodness,
Faith,
Meekness,
Self-control!
Let this be the last year that man in the mirror disappoints you!
Just confess and let Christ be your Savior.
You will be amazed at how it will change your mirror reflection.
Christ will transform you into a mirror image of Him.
Come to Christ,
And let this be the last year your resolutions fail.
